Family Halloween Costume Ideas
Halloween may look a little different this year, but it’s Halloween and you can truly make it fun no matter what you’re doing! We have pulled together the easiest Family Halloween Costumes!
We have always been big Halloween people – I love thinking of new and fresh ways to tie us all into one ‘theme’ so I pulled together our most favorite family costumes to date and I am sharing tips for choosing one that is special, unique and fun for your family!
Tip 1: Be YOU!
Don’t go too outside of your comfort zone – being confident and comfortable is key to making your costume shine. You don’t want a whiny baby in a stuffy costume, and you definitely don’t want to be chasing that whiny baby in something that doesn’t let you bend down or move properly. You can be comfortable while still playing it fun!
Tip 2: Be resourceful!
I would say most of the time, you can shop your closet for a close variation of most costumes. Don’t feel like you have to purchase everything or get new or even spend a lot of money! Our Grease costumes were so simple to pull together and almost everything was straight from our closet!
For this family halloween costume idea: Grab some jeans and a white tee for the boys, and layer up the black leggings and tees for the girls! I had to get Hunty that leather jacket though, because come on! A baby in a leather jacket? It’s too much! Finish off the girls with some red lips and you’ve got major ‘pink ladies’ vibes!
Tip 3: Have fun with it! This is the holiday to go nuts – and for us we like to think about a way to incorporate us all. But also don’t put too much pressure on yourself to be super creative. This year has been crazy for everyone so just make sure you are focused on having a great time celebrating!
Tip 4 for our Family Halloween Costume Ideas:
Store bought works too! Yes, you can totally do the DIY thing for Halloween but if you are short on time or just spread too thin (hello, again 2020!) then go grab a grouping of fun store bought costumes – our Super Heros look was still one of my faves and it was an easy find and all store bought! Make it simple on yourself so you have more time for candy and treats!
And lastly! Tip 5: Take lots of pictures! These littles won’t be so little for long, and they will definitely not always let you pick their costumes so document while you can! I will never forget sweet Sav in this little tutu or Hunty as He Man!
Happy Halloween you guys! We can’t wait to see your Family Halloween Costume Ideas in action! xx
